Pari Livermore supports California education by giving young children the opportunity to fulfill their dreams through scholarships. In 2019, we joined hands with U.C. Berkeley to create the Berkley Minnie Cannon Scholarship Program. We are continuously exerting our best efforts to provide a bright future for the students of Minnie Cannon Elementary School in Middletown, California.
We are currently offering nine categories under our scholarship program: Leadership, Science, Music, College Housing, Community Service, Rodeo, 4H, Gardening, and Girls’ Athletes. This is to give all students a fair chance of winning a grant by excelling in their respective fields. The school has been one of our main beneficiaries since 2011. We currently have 37 students under our scholarship programs and aim to reach a total of 40 students by the end of 2022.
Providing Children’s Needs
During elementary school, children begin to form ideas about who they are, what they enjoy, and where they want to be in the future. We want these kids to believe that it’s natural to have dreams and aspirations and that they are attainable regardless of their family’s financial situation.
Although the students won’t be able to attend college until much later, we aim to help them make the most out of their childhood with the assurance of a promising future ahead of them. By doing this, they can focus on fulfilling their current goals and having fun instead of worrying about what lies ahead. They can plan out their future and eventually use the money from the scholarship to buy their textbook, supplies, or other course materials.
Improving their Skills and Talents
We create opportunities for children by paving the way for growth and development through activities that they enjoy. By offering them scholarships that are relevant to their fields of interest, we are letting them know that it’s possible to dedicate their time to their careers while still staying true to the things they are passionate about. We want these students to hone their skills and improve them so that they may continue to strive for success without losing sight of what makes them happy.
Promoting Confidence and Character Development
Through our program, we are hoping to help children gain knowledge outside of their education. We believe that learning certain values through hands-on experience is equally as important as studying their curriculum. These scholarships may serve as one of the first things that students strive to achieve; as they put their all into qualifying for our program, they will be able to realize the importance of hard work, generosity, and perseverance in their lives. One of our main goals is to help them feel confident in themselves and their abilities. The sense of pride that they feel once they obtain a scholarship through their efforts is a learning experience, indeed.
